Autumn will soon be here. Starting in early October, nature will put on its finest garb. The third season is a very special time in the Engadine. Seize the moment and discover one of the great wonders of nature.

Cultural events also provide some new encounters in September and October.

Autumn program

This second newsletter of the summer covers some of our September and October highlights.

The third season – autumn – is a time of spectacular colors in the Engadine. The bright golden larch needles and the colorful foliage of the birches, alder and mountain ash invite you to discover nature at its finest.

The Waldhaus is open until October 25.

Autumn is also the time for venison

Hunting season in the Engadine begins on September 3.

You won’t find hunters in our kitchen, but you will find excellent chefs. Starting from September 19, we will serve venison specialties from the local hunt in our cozy Arvenstube.

SEPTEMBER – Resonanzen International Cultural Festival Sils

The seventh edition of the Resonanzen Festival celebrates a milestone: 2020 is the year of Beethoven. The Belcea Quartet and the Kandinsky Ensemble will perform some of Beethoven’s finest chamber music.

OCTOBER – Stubete am See

From October 16 to 18, “Stubete am See”, a festival of new Swiss folk music, will take place in Sils for the first time.

More than 30 concerts in various locations, inspiring walks to the magic Chastè peninsula or the idyllic Val Fex accompanied by a Stubete ensemble. Dance bands will play in various hotels. (“Stubete” is an old Swiss term for an informal gathering of musicians in someone’s living room.) Stubete am See Sils has much to offer. See for yourself!

Don’t miss «Sleep & Ski», our exciting offer. You can get a regional ski pass for the duration of your stay for a surcharge of just CHF 45 per person and per day. The only condition: you have to purchase it for the entire length of your stay. But, no Waldhaus guest will pay more than CHF 195 per person for the pass, no matter how long they stay; the rest is on the house! For children up to age twelve, it’s on the house from day one as long as you order the ski pass in advance.
