Early winter greetings from the Waldhaus

Grüezi Frau Muster

With deep gratitude, we can look back on a successful summer season. With help from our guests, our staff and our luck – complying with the requisite precautions and looking out for each other – we enjoyed a very good summer.

Nature gave us beautiful autumn days. Over the past few weeks, the landscape has been swept by a blaze of color, as the splendid interplay of golden larches brightened the Engadine.

We can hardly wait for the first thick snowflakes to fall, softly turning the landscape into a white wonderland. As the weather grows colder and we get out our woolen caps, our scarves and gloves, we eagerly await the start of our 2021/22 winter season. Preparations for winter are in full swing, so that everything will be ready for the first guests when we reopen on December 16. Whether you are hoping for a sports-filled vacation or a more easy-going stay, you can once again count on a varied cultural program, plenty of culinary delights and above all a relaxing time at the Waldhaus in an amazing Engadine winter setting.

We wish you enchanting winter dreams and look forward to welcoming you back soon.

With best wishes
The Dietrich & Kienberger family
and the Waldhaus Team

Uniquely elegant, uniquely refreshing

Spread across 1500m2, the Waldhaus SPA offers an eagerly awaited break from everyday life and the perfect counterbalance to a vacation day in the mountains. In addition to our spa, we offer a wide range of soothing massages and nourishing treatments in our treatment area.

Want to get away from it all? Treat yourself to a few days of rest and relaxation. Take a look at our winter feel-good package.

Skiing fun

Discover our exciting “Sleep & Ski” offer and enhance your stay at the Waldhaus and your time on the slopes.

Among 350km of excellent runs, everyone can find a favorite slope. Be it carving or off-piste, over gentle slopes or steep drops. Whether skiing or snowboarding, young or old, you will find everything your heart desires on the Engadine ski slopes.

The Waldhaus courtesy van will drop you off at the Furtschellas station or the Sils Maria bus stop.

Silver tracks to paradise

Cross-country ski fans will find their personal favorites among 230km of top-quality trails in unmatched scenic beauty. You’re always on the right track in the Engadine. Whether with the elegant classic or dynamic skating style, you can enjoy the wide expanse of the Engadine valley.

Trails begin just outside the hotel. New to cross-country skiing? The local cross-country ski school offers lessons and you can rent skis from the local sports shops.

Discover GIGERs

Opened in December 2020, our new restaurant GIGERs is located across from the Waldhaus next to the indoor tennis court.

Embedded in a snow-covered landscape, the elegant and simple wooden structure sparkles in the splendid evening light. Relax as the day draws to a close, whether with a cocktail, a hearty cheese fondue, raclette or a table-top grill, or simply with one of our tasty seasonal dishes.

St. Moritz Gourmet Festival

The 28th edition of the St. Moritz Gourmet Festivals with the motto “SWISS MADE” was postponed from 2021 to 2022.

From January 28 to February 5, ten star chefs from Switzerland will treat festival guests to culinary delights, cooking alongside the executive chefs from the partner hotels.

At the Waldhaus, too, find culinary inspiration and enjoy the creations of our guest chef Mattias Roock from the Hotel Castello del Sole in Ascona (from February 2 to 4).

New: co-working at the Waldhaus

More and more guests are turning their vacations into “workations” or at the very least have to spend some of their vacation days on their laptops or participating in conference calls. The Waldhaus has a vision to sustainably integrate co-working spaces into the hotel. However, implementing this idea will take some time to be fully realized. As an interim solution, we are offering a small, mobile co-working center during the coming high season/ peak winter vacation periods, i.e. from Dec. 16 to Jan. 8, Feb. 11 to March 5 and Apr. 9 to 19.

Have a look next time you visit the Waldhaus and meet up with your fellow “co-workers”.

Culture & activities

Again this winter we have put together a varied and inspiring array of events, which are listed on our website. You can also print out our program.
